FaxDesk sends nothing to us. It has no account, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no update check and no analytics. The only network connection it makes is to the fax provider you configure (today, Phone.com), and only to send and receive your faxes and to list the accounts and numbers your own API token can see.
Your data stays on your PC. Received faxes, sent faxes, cover pages, confirmations, your address book, sender names, assignments and the audit log are files in a folder on the computer running FaxDesk (by default %LOCALAPPDATA%\FaxDesk). Your provider API token is stored there too, sealed with Windows data protection for your Windows account. Retention is a number of days you set; FaxDesk deletes older faxes on that schedule and keeps a daily backup in the same folder. If you turn on the whole-office option, other PCs on your own office network read that same folder through FaxDesk; nothing is copied to the internet.
Your fax provider has its own copy. Faxes pass through your provider (for example Phone.com) under their terms and, for healthcare offices, under the Business Associate Agreement between you and them. FaxDesk does not delete anything at the provider.
We cannot see your faxes. HnS, LLC has no access to any FaxDesk installation, its files or its provider account. If you email us for support, do not send us faxes, patient information or your API token; we will ask you to remove them.
The site is static pages hosted on GitHub Pages behind Cloudflare. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read; it sets cookies in your browser and Google processes that data under its own terms. You can block it with any content blocker and the site works the same. Downloads come from GitHub, which has its own privacy policy. The demo video on the home page is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play. If you email help@freefaxdesk.com we keep the email to answer it. The "Buy us a coffee" link goes to a third-party site with its own policy.
A whole-office licence key is a code derived from the email address you give us when you buy it. We keep that email address and the date so we can re-issue the key if you lose it. Nothing else is collected and the key is never checked online.
The software and site are for businesses and are not directed at children under 13.
